A permanent Wind Turbine O&M Technician will support the delivery of maintenance and improvement activities across operational wind assets. You will provide hands-on technical support, fault finding, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, working closely with site teams and subcontractors.
This role suits an experienced wind turbine technician who is looking to further develop their technical expertise while contributing to continuous improvement and safe, high-quality maintenance delivery. Experience on Vestas turbine platforms is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out planned and reactive wind turbine maintenance
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults
- Supporting technical improvements and ongoing issue resolution
- Preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and site documentation
- Communicating effectively with site teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Supporting large component exchange and heavy lift activities
- Maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance
Essential
- Wind turbine operations and maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical and or electrical fault-finding capability
- Experience working at height and within safety-critical environments
- Ability to travel within the UK and Ireland as required
Desirable
- Experience on Vestas wind turbine platforms
- Large component exchange and main component replacement
- Gearbox inspections and condition monitoring
- Use of diagnostic equipment such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, ultrasound, and borescopes
- Blade inspection or blade repair experience
- Technical reporting and documentation
- Coordinating subcontractors and site activities
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent)
- WTSR and strong Health & Safety awareness
Ongoing technical training provided. Opportunities to develop advanced diagnostic, leadership, and specialist skills. Exposure to a wide range of turbine technologies and maintenance scopes.
