Production Leader (m/f/*)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Production Leader for the Skelmersdale site, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

The Production Leader will work under the guidance of the Operations Manager alongside fellow Production Area Leaders. They will direct day to day operations, primarily focused on ensuring we ‘win the day’ in terms of safety, quality, service, cost and engagement. An element of the role will also be forward looking, driving improvements in the area, striving towards operational excellence, reducing costs.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading - Provide front line leadership to production employees, supporting performance, development, and daily operational excellence.

  • Implementing - Implement and sustain standard work, TPM, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance.

  • Determining - Determine production priorities, scheduling, and crewing to meet business and operational requirements.

  • Supporting - Support safe, high-quality operations through risk management, audits, training, and site project involvement.

  • Communicating - Communicate clearly across shifts and leadership tiers to ensure alignment on performance, priorities, and issues.

  • Collaborating - Collaborate with production teams and cross-functional partners to resolve issues and drive operational improvements.

  • Promoting - Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the departme

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.

  • Experience leading people, teams, or frontline activities in an operational setting.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels of the organization.

  • Ability to prioritize work, make sound decisions, and respond to changing production demands.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, quality, and operational performance.

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience supporting or leading activities related to standard work, TPM, training, or performance management.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and lead change effectively.

  • Working knowledge of key manufacturing metrics, including output, yield, cost, quality, and productivity.

  • SAP knowledge.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with quality, engineering, maintenance, or other site support teams
