The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for specifying, procuring, installing, commissioning, and maintaining laboratory equipment used to test respiratory protective products against applicable European standards. The role includes development and validation of test methods, training laboratory personnel, and ensuring equipment operation complies with the laboratory’s ISO 9001 certified quality management system and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
- Specify suitable laboratory equipment to meet testing requirements.
- Verify performance against specifications and standard requirements.
- Document installation and commissioning activities.
- Develop documented test methods to meet relevant EN standard clauses.
- Prepare operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Ensure equipment and procedures comply with the ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Maintain documentation and records in accordance with quality procedures.
- Work collaboratively with laboratory technicians, engineers, and the Quality Manager.
- Communicate effectively regarding equipment status, testing capability, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Technical qualification (HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent) in engineering, physics, instrumentation, related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with laboratory or test equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical standards and specifications.
Preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience with respiratory protective equipment testing or related standards.
