As a Senior Capital Project Engineer (m/f/
Responsibilities
- ) at 3M UK Aycliffe, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
- Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading capital projects within our manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites within the UK and wider EMEA region
- Planning, execution and completion of a variety of projects including facility upgrades, new equipment installations and automation, ensuring projects meet high standards of safety and compliance and delivered on time, within budget and in alignment with operational goals
- Managing full lifecycle of capital projects: scope development, budgeting, timelines, supplier selection, execution, commissioning and close-out.
- Leading multidisciplinary project teams including engineering, operations, EHS, quality and external vendors and contractors
- Ensuring delivery of projects within defined timelines, budgets and specifications whilst maintaining robust risk and change management processes
- Managing contractor/vendor relationships, procurement processes and site activities to ensure safe, compliant execution
- Coordinating with engineering, operations, plant engineering, EHS, sourcing and finance teams to ensure alignment and support
- Preparing and delivering regular project updates and reports to stakeholders and leadership
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable safety, environmental and regulatory standards

Qualifications
- Degree in an Engineering Discipline
- Proven leadership of high value, complex capital projects in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams
- Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Formal Project Management Training
- Chartered Engineer
- Six Sigma (Green, Black Belt) or equivalent
- Experience within a highly regulated manufacturing industry experience (i.e. Healthcare, Medical Devices, Pharma., Aerospace, Nuclear, Food)
