The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As the Design Solutions & Connected Automation Leader for the Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division in EMEA, you will lead a team responsible for complex design-in activities and project management excellence across automotive and other priority industries. You will also accelerate automation-enabled bonding solutions and develop partnerships within the automation ecosystem. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Design Solutions Specialists and Project Managers.
- Set team priorities, allocate resources and ensure strong technical performance and project execution.
- Drive design-in strategies with OEMs, suppliers and key accounts to secure specifications for 3M bonding and adhesive technologies.
- Manage project governance, KPIs, risk assessments, escalations and cross-functional communication to ensure successful execution.
- Prioritize and maintain visibility of the design-in and project pipeline, ensuring disciplined and accurate CRM documentation.
- Contribute to digital and automation programs that accelerate customer implementation and strengthen automation-enabled bonding growth.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with automation ecosystem stakeholders such as integrators, machine builders and robotics partners.
- Increase the automation fluency of the salesforce through targeted training and enablement activities.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, or similar), or a related technical field.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical, engineering or project-oriented teams.
- Strong experience in technical sales, application engineering, or project management in industries with complex design-in cycles.
- Demonstrated success influencing OEMs, Tier suppliers or major industrial customers.
- Ability to build cross-functional alignment and develop partnerships within engineering and automation ecosystems.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English both written and verbal.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Knowledge of adhesives, bonding, advanced materials, assembly technologies, and/or automation and robotics integration.
- Additional common European languages are an advantage.
Job specifics:
- Location: EMEA role with strong preference for successful person to be located in either Germany, France, Italy, UK.
- Travel expectations - May include up to 25% domestic/international.
- Remote based.
- Working pattern - full time.
