Due to the continued growth and expansion of this company we are representing, we are looking for a Purchase Ledger Executive to join their team in Co. Derry. This role would be commutable from Limavady, Derry, Coleraine, Limavady and surrounding areas. Our client is a Northern Ireland-based engineering company, established in 2014 and recognised as an award‑winning provider of innovative, technology‑driven solutions across the power and water sectors. They specialise in designing and delivering bespoke, flexible systems that transform critical infrastructure for clients across the UK, Europe, and the United States. This is a technically sophisticated M&E engineering environment operating within high‑growth markets, with continued expansion across engineering, automation/controls, project management and digital delivery.
Responsibilities
- Purchase ledger – supplier receipt completed in a timely fashion.
- Monthly supplier payments.
- Assist with the implementation of SICON and new efficient systems.
- Reconciliations of nominal ledgers to P&L and BS – investigation of costs that fall outside acceptable parameters.
- Run commercial reports for all projects, aged creditor and payments.
- Work with the PL Manager on current KPIs reporting and develop them to include more timely reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Assist with producing management accounts for the business.
- Gather documentation for Intrastats and report figures to HMRC.
- Post invoices on SAGE 200 and resolve invoice/supplier queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Payroll processing cover as/when required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally purchase ledger focused.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software – SAGE 200/SICON preferred.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated, with a ‘can‑do’ approach to work and willingness to learn and assist.
- Organised and disciplined in planning and approach to work.
- Excited to work in a constantly evolving business environment, where growth and a strong employee‑led culture is central and a key priority.
