Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Head Office team in Newry.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. Working closely with the pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams, you will help secure new business opportunities while ensuring accurate and commercially viable submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing exercises.
- Identify risks and value-engineering opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
- Assist in preparing tender reports and presentations.
- Maintain cost databases and market intelligence.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Estimator role within a main contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and building contracts.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
