On behalf of my client, we are actively recruiting for a Senior Site Manager to work on an ongoing £100M student accommodation project located in Holborn Viaduct. The client is a multidisciplinary construction company operating as a main contractor, delivering high‐end projects across Ireland and the UK. The Senior Site Manager will report to the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering the building project while leading other members of the construction team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the co‐ordination and control of the project from the design stage, through to completion and handover to the client.
- Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays.
- Regular monitoring and liaison with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager on the Master Programme and development of stage/section programmes as required.
- Liaising with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager to ensure adequate labour and subcontractor resources are available on site using the agreed agency list.
- Day‐to‐day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Carry out toolbox briefings for the site teams and subcontractors.
- Plan and efficiently organise site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is fit for purpose and only operated by appropriately trained staff.
- Requisition all materials and oversee the deliveries to ensure they are done in adequate time to align with the construction programme and procurement schedule.
- Ensure workmanship and material standards are achieved in accordance with specifications, building regulations, health and safety legislation, and quality standards.
- Ensure site team and subcontractors follow common operational standards.
- Maintain close relations with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and Contract Surveyor regarding cost control, waste management, variations, and Confirmation of Instructions.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to projects on the Gateway system to enable traceability.
- Undertake all relevant training and development activities as required.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process as and when required.
Education / Experience
- A Degree/HND in a construction‐related discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience, OR a minimum of 5 years' experience in similar Senior Site Management roles on projects ranging from £10M+.
- Knowledge and understanding of CDM regulations.
- A current valid CSR/CSCS Card – preferably held at management level.
- Qualified first‐aider desirable.
- Strong time‐management skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Flexible and positive approach to working hours and various locations throughout the UK and Ireland.
