As a Chartered Structural Engineer, you will take full ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects, leading from design through to completion. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing graduate engineers and technicians
  • Serving as the primary client contact
  • Collaborating with contractors and multi-disciplinary consultants
  • Structural design calculations and drawings
  • Project team coordination and resource management
  • Client and consultant relationship management
  • Site inspections and quality assurance
  • Risk identification and mitigation
  • Fee forecasting and project invoicing
  • Mentoring graduates and junior engineers
  • Contributing to business development

Essential criteria:

  • Chartered Structural Engineer status
  • BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum five years' post-graduate experience in a similar environment
  • Proven design experience across all common building materials to current codes
  • Competent structural assessment of existing buildings
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Full current driving licence (or equivalent access to transport)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience at an engineering-based consultancy
  • Experience using Masterseries software
