As a Chartered Structural Engineer, you will take full ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects, leading from design through to completion. Responsibilities include:
- Managing graduate engineers and technicians
- Serving as the primary client contact
- Collaborating with contractors and multi-disciplinary consultants
- Structural design calculations and drawings
- Project team coordination and resource management
- Client and consultant relationship management
- Site inspections and quality assurance
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Fee forecasting and project invoicing
- Mentoring graduates and junior engineers
- Contributing to business development
Essential criteria:
- Chartered Structural Engineer status
- BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum five years' post-graduate experience in a similar environment
- Proven design experience across all common building materials to current codes
- Competent structural assessment of existing buildings
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Full current driving licence (or equivalent access to transport)
Desirable:
- Previous experience at an engineering-based consultancy
- Experience using Masterseries software
