Design and build 187 bed hotel project in Brighton. Looking for someone who has hotel/mixed-use residential experience to come in and support this project. We are open to engineers in Brighton, London (commutable distance) or from NI who would travel fortnightly.

Summary of the Role: Reporting to the Contracts / Site Manager, you will be responsible for the effective implementation of the planned design, providing all setting out on site to ensure that work progresses on time and that all checks are carried out on a regular basis.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring accurate setting out and levelling of the works in accordance with drawings / specifications.
  • Ensuring all drawings and information relating to your area of work are accurate and up to date.
  • Reviewing Architect/Engineer/Services/Sub-Contractor drawings, ensuring coordination and integration.
  • Ensuring quality control and testing of work and materials is carried out in accordance with the specification requirements.
  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the Construction Programme.
  • Carrying out checks on works, prior to and following any concrete pours.
  • Fulfilling the role of Temporary Works Coordinator as and when required.

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years' recent and relevant experience as a Site Engineer.
  • A minimum of 2+ years' experience successfully managing and coordinating sub contractors on a large scale.
  • Understanding of the construction process.
  • Experience in AutoCAD.
  • Experience in carrying out Health and Safety assessments / inspections.

Desirable Experience:

  • Relevant technical knowledge.
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods, health & safety and legal regulations.
  • Experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator / Supervisor.
