The successful candidate will take responsibility for developing the maintenance offering, securing new contracts, building a delivery team and ensuring the successful delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services across a growing client base. This role would suit an experienced Maintenance, FM or Building Services professional who combines strong operational knowledge with a commercial mindset and an established network within the industry.
The Role
- Establishing and growing a regional M&E maintenance and FM operation
- Developing the division's service offering across planned, preventative and reactive maintenance
- Generating new business and developing opportunities through your existing client and industry network
- Working closely with existing clients across the wider construction and M&E business to identify maintenance opportunities
- Securing new maintenance contracts, frameworks and service agreements
- Managing projects and maintenance contracts from mobilisation through to delivery
- Building and managing an operational team as the division grows
- Recruiting engineers, supervisors, contract managers and support staff where required
- Developing supply chain and subcontractor relationships
- Preparing tenders, proposals, budgets and commercial submissions
- Supporting pricing, contract negotiations and client presentations
- Ensuring contracts are delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard
- Maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat and additional business
- Working alongside the wider M&E and construction teams to provide a complete Design, Build and Maintain offering
The Person
We are interested in speaking with experienced professionals from an M&E maintenance, Facilities Management, Building Services or technical services background. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience within M&E maintenance, FM or Building Services
- Experience managing maintenance contracts, service agreements or FM operations
- A strong understanding of planned preventative and reactive maintenance
- Previous experience managing engineers, supervisors or contract teams
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, tenders and contract performance
- Experience developing new client relationships and generating business
- An established network within the M&E, FM, property or construction sectors
- The ability and ambition to build and lead a new division
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to operate strategically and operationally
- Previous experience establishing or growing a maintenance division, regional business or service department would be particularly attractive.
The Opportunity
This is not simply a contract management position. You will be given the opportunity to establish and shape a new division within an ambitious, well-backed contractor, developing the team, client base, systems and overall strategy. The wider business operates across the M&E and construction sectors, creating significant opportunities to provide clients with an integrated Design, Build and Maintain service. For somebody looking for greater responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to build a business unit around their own expertise and network, this represents an excellent long-term opportunity.
