3D Personnel are currently recruiting for a Project Design Manager to join a growing multi-disciplined engineering team delivering design solutions across a strong portfolio of projects.
This role will focus predominantly on process-led projects within the water, wastewater and biosolids sectors, with additional workstreams across Energy (hydrocarbon and renewables, Power & Transmission).
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Project Design Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating design resources, managing interfaces and ensuring design deliverables are produced efficiently and in line with project and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Coordinating and managing design resources to ensure efficient delivery of design outputs in line with the DORM (Design, Organisation & Responsibilities Matrix) and the Project Design Programme
- Managing interfaces with third-party designs from consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensuring formal design reviews are completed throughout the project lifecycle in line with internal procedures
- Producing weekly and monthly progress reports against the DORM and contract programme
- Monitoring and reporting design expenditure, implementing strategies to mitigate overspend where required
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships and communication with clients and key stakeholders
- Acting as Principal Designer in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015
Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
- MEng / BEng accredited by a recognised engineering institution (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Process Engineering)
- Experience working within design and construction organisations
- Previous or current experience within the water / wastewater sector
- Proven experience managing a large team of engineers
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
