As we expand our portfolio and enter new markets, we are seeking a results-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to support our growth strategy and build lasting partnerships.
Job Role
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you’ll support the preparation of financial reports, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and provide key insights to help drive business performance. The Role involves maintaining accurate financial records daily and analysing financial data in conjunction with supporting and mentoring two finance assistances. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of reporting, analysis, and business partnering.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Perform variance analysis and provide commentary
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain financial records
- Assist with accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Work with other departments to gather financial data and insights
- Support the Finance Manager and wider team with ad hoc tasks and projects
Person Specification
- Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or actively studying
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance colleagues
- Day-to-day management of the sales and purchase ledger function
- Create and manage stock control processes
- Assist with the preparation of income statements, balance sheets and other financial documents
- Support and mentor two team members
- Assisting the FM with reporting and AD-HOC tasks
- Adhere to the company\'s financial policies and procedures
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed, scanned and filed fully and correctly, in accordance with ISO 13485:2016 and company protocols.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads
- Experience in management accounts or month-end processes
- Familiarity with Sage, Xero, or similar accounting software
- Experience in a multi-site or service-led business
- Understanding of Intercompany Accounting and reporting
- Payroll experience is advantageous
- ZOHO CRM experience is advantageous.
