Production Supervisor

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years. Due to increased demand within the department, our client now has a requirement for a Production Supervisor. 365 Resourcing are the preferred supplier working on behalf of Mazak. Job Description: * Maintain 0 accidents & HSE standards whilst fostering a culture of safety first. * Maintain 5S standards and housekeeping. * Ensures achievement of standard times with appropriate productivity factor of 1.2 in their area of responsibility. Target to reduce productivity to 1.0 incrementally. * Take ownership & plan the machines to be powered of for each month to deliver customer required ship dates. * Ensure adequate planning of labour & parts to deliver weekly output plans. * Ensure machines are produced correctly against planned specifications. * Maintain A-line plan position inline with Production control & ICS. * Target of 0 Amendments per machine, make plans to effectively reduce amendments according to flagged issues. * Target of 0 CSIR’s raised against produced machines. * Maintain budget performance against the planned values. * Complete ownership of team training and development plans to ensure skillset readiness to deliver production plans. * Promote & foster cross training and flexibility across teams collaboratively with other team supervisors. * Identify opportunities to reduce cost and implement accordingly through kaizen tools. * Conduct annual appraisals for all members of team, supporting professional development and engagement. * Motivate the team to deliver and work together to achieve monthly and annual targets. Essential Criteria: – Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People focused, confident, flexible and highly motivated. – Good communication skills are essential. – Foster a culture of continuous improvement. – A team player with a positive can do attitude – Boost morale and promote a happy, proactive and inclusive team. Desirable Criteria: – Experience in leading teams at a similar level. – Proof points for past achievement of SQDCP objectives. – I.T literate (Power point, Excel). – ERP knowledge. – Good presentation skills. – Mazak product knowledge. – Technical experience with Mazak Machine Tools. – Engineering qualifications.
