We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to support planned and reactive maintenance activities within a critical plant environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for PPM delivery, diagnostics, fault finding, and ensuring the reliability of HVAC and associated mechanical systems. This role requires a competent and self-sufficient engineer capable of working within live environments where plant uptime is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with site schedules
  • Reactive maintenance and fault finding on mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Diagnostic testing and rectification of plant failures
  • Maintenance and servicing of air handling units (AHUs)
  • Maintenance and fault finding on chillers
  • Working on pumps, motors, valves, pipework and associated mechanical plant
  • Monitoring and maintaining critical plant systems to ensure operational continuity
  • Completion of service reports and maintenance documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times

Plant and Systems Experience

  • HVAC systems
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Chillers
  • Pumps and pressurisation units
  • Mechanical distribution systems
  • BMS interface awareness (desirable)

Requirements

  • Proven background in facilities maintenance or building services engineering
  • Strong mechanical bias
  • Experience within critical plant environments
  • Ability to fault find independently and efficiently
  • Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • F-Gas (desirable but not essential depending on scope)
  • Good understanding of safe systems of work
