We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to lead an established equipment hire business. This senior role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, driving performance, and ensuring high standards across service delivery, team management, and financial control. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the ongoing growth and efficiency of the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction across the business
- Manage and support departmental managers and operational teams
- Oversee day-to-day operations including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Ensure high levels of customer service and operational reliability
- Drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and business growth
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, company policies, and relevant regulations
- Act as senior point of contact for escalated operational or customer issues
- Monitor performance against targets and implement improvement plans where required
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a senior management or general management role
- Background in equipment hire, logistics, operations, or a similar operational environment
