365 People are recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of an established transport and logistics operation in the Scunthorpe area. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for experienced Class 1 drivers looking for consistent work, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position after 12 weeks.
The Role
You will be working across a variety of general haulage and trunking contracts, operating modern 26-tonne IVECO vehicles, primarily curtain siders. Routes can include locations such as Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, London, Scotland and Wales, depending on the contract. The work is predominantly palletised and there is no regular handball involved. Some contracts may involve light manual handling, but the majority of loading and unloading is completed using site equipment.
Driver Requirements
- Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Minimum 6 months' Class 1 experience
- Minimum 25 years old for insurance purposes
- Maximum 6 points, with minor offences such as SP30s considered
- Good understanding of load security
- Strapping experience preferred
- Reliable and professional attitude
- Comfortable with longer working days
Working Hours
Day Tramping: Typically 05:00 - 08:00 starts
Night Drivers: Typically around 16:00 starts
The majority of work is Monday - Friday, although weekend work is available. Alternative rotas such as Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday can be considered. Drivers can expect an average working day of around 10-12 hours, although this can vary depending on the contract.
