We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join one of our clients' manufacturing teams. This role involves setting, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-quality components in line with technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC machines (milling, turning, or both)
- Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials
- Perform machine setup adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary corrections
- Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations
- Carry out routine maintenance and report any faults or issues
- Work to production targets and deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Setter / Operator
- Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar control systems (preferred)
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to work shifts if required
Desirable Skills
- CNC programming experience (advantageous but not essential)
- Experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures
Working Monday to Friday 42.5 hours per week with opportunities for overtime.
