365 People are currently recruiting for an experienced Steering Rack Assembler to join a well-established automotive manufacturing company based in Birmingham. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a skilled assembler with experience in precision mechanical assembly and automotive components. You will be joining a highly experienced production team assembling high-quality steering and braking systems to exact engineering standards.
The Role
- Assembling complex mechanical components using engineering drawings and specifications
- Building and fitting:
- Power steering units
- Steering racks
- Brake calipers
- Pump assemblies
- Completing both sub-assembly and full-build assembly work
- Using hand tools, torque tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Carrying out quality inspections to ensure products meet required tolerances and standards
- Identifying and reporting faults or defects
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Following all health & safety and production procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience within a mechanical assembly or steering rack assembly role
- Previous experience assembling steering systems, brake calipers, pump assemblies, or similar automotive components is essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Pay & Overtime
- £14.00 per hour
- Overtime paid at:
- Time and one-third during the week
- Time and a half on Saturdays
Working Hours
- Monday - Thursday: 07:30am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 3:45pm
