The Stock Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, organisation, and integrity of all stock operations. You will act as the link between the shop floor, stockroom, and reports to the head office team and operations manager, ensuring seamless inventory management in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate stock levels at all times, ensuring alignment between physical stock and system records.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and full inventories.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Oversee all inbound and outbound stock movements, including deliveries, transfers, and returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of deliveries from the warehouse, including quality and quantity checks.
- Maintain a highly organised stockroom, ensuring products are stored safely, efficiently, and in line with brand standards.
- Support the sales team by ensuring product availability and timely replenishment to the shop floor.
- Prepare and manage all shipping, customs, and VAT documentation in compliance with company and legal requirements.
- Liaise closely with finance teams and store manager regarding inventory reporting, consignment stock, and stock valuation.
- Produce regular stock reports and analysis to support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and loss prevention procedures.
- Support team members on stock processes and best practices.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and operational excellence.
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrates initiative and a problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise across all levels.
- Experience working with stock management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience in luxury retail or a high-volume stock control role is highly desirable.
