Working alongside experienced developers on real projects enables you to advance rapidly and enhance your career prospects significantly over traditional Computer Science graduates. As well as earning a salary, your university tuition fees are paid over the 4 years of the degree.

This is a rewarding career path for people who relish the challenge of a learning and working environment. As a Degree Apprentice, you will follow the same track as our Graduate intake. Alongside training and masterclasses, you work with experienced Full Stack Developers supporting the systems we write, taking an active part in projects and rapidly improving your software development skills.

Responsibilities:

  • 1st line support for systems, websites and customers
  • Take over day to day tasks of experienced developers
  • Employ coding best practices in the work you do
  • Create high-quality systems
  • Code Front End Web and Mobile Apps
  • Write backend systems in C# .NET
  • Build systems in Microsoft Azure Cloud

Alongside writing code, you will gain experience in delivering projects using the latest DevOps methods. You will be involved in requirements gathering, prototyping, coding, delivery and support. Your analytical approach to problem-solving, strong maths and passion for software development make you an asset to the team. You will work on a range of interesting projects building websites, mobile applications and web portal systems for our clients in the UK and Europe. Following completion of the Degree Apprenticeship, you will be a full-stack Software Engineer with 4 years of commercial experience building bespoke web systems and should be looking at undertaking a Lead Developer Role.

Location: Sci-Tech Daresbury. Our Sci-Tech Daresbury office is convenient for Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool, with day release to Manchester Metropolitan University. School Leavers with good maths and technical ability, and who have written a website, app or completed a Codecademy or Udemy Software Developer course are very much encouraged to apply.
