A vacancy has arisen within the Maintenance department for a Reliability Engineer based primarily at Barnsley. You will join them on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary. The Reliability Engineer role: As a Reliability Engineer you will work closely with the maintenance, production and quality departments to identify and mitigate risks to critical assets and aim to reduce equipment failures, improve systems and maximise uptime. You will develop and refine asset care plans using reliability centred maintenance and FMEA principles and drive a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, utilising Lean methodologies and Root Cause Analysis to eliminate waste and optimise operational efficiency.
The key responsibilities of their Reliability Engineer will include:
- Delivering a long-term maintenance strategy
- Failure analysis and elimination
- Develop and integrate condition-based monitoring
- Improve planned preventative maintenance activities
- Improve production processes and maximise machine output
- Analyse CMMS data, downtime trends, and KPIs
- Lead root cause analysis activities
- Create and enforce planned maintenance standards
- Lead, coach and mentor the maintenance team in reliability practices
In order to succeed in this Reliability Engineer role, you must have:
- Proven experience in a reliability or maintenance engineering role
- A successful track record of working within a manufacturing/maintenance environment ideally within woodworking/FMCG/Packaging
- Experience in implementing (or supporting roll-out of) CI initiatives
- Forward thinking nature alongside a collaborative hands-on approach to day-to-day production activities
- Lean Six Sigma qualifications/certificate (desirable)
- Excellent time keeping and time management skills
- A Full UK driving licence
You will be:
- An experienced multi-skilled engineer
- Educated to NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline
- Able to motivate and manage a team
- Able to communicate confidently with people at all levels
- Able to work under pressure and maintain deadlines
- Self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team
- Have excellent organisational, written and numerical skills
- Be computer literate
