About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Injection Moulding Setter to join our busy production team in Wythenshawe, Manchester. Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor or Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our plastic products are manufactured to the highest standards, in line with supplied specifications and formulas, through safe, efficient, and effective operation of injection moulding equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production processes to maintain optimum running conditions
- Perform tooling changeovers and start-up/shut-down procedures
- Resolve machine-related production and quality issues efficiently and in a timely manner
- Produce high-quality moulded products with minimal scrap
- Conduct barrel and screw cleaning routines
- Provide clear and efficient end-of-shift handovers
- Monitor and maintain product quality in accordance with specifications, performing regular quality checks and recordings throughout the shift
- Assist with tool trials and support optimum production achievement
- Help other moulding setters and operators as needed
- Use fork trucks and manual handling to move raw materials and finished products
- Maintain a clean, tidy workplace with excellent housekeeping (5S standards)
- Follow operating procedures, setting sheets, and report any breaches of works rules immediately to the Production Manager
- Make every effort to minimise moulded product scrap and achieve targeted machine efficiencies

What We're Looking For
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience as an Injection Moulding Technician, Setter, or similar role
- Experience working within the plastics industry (desirable but not essential for strong candidates)
- Good working knowledge of plastics materials, their uses, and properties
- Multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced production environment
