Estimating/Design Engineer - £35,000-£40,000 +Bens – Cookstown NI My client is a leading light in the Construction industry, providing a range of stainless steel masonry support products for the UK and Ireland.

They have been repeatedly recognised and won awards for their innovative approach to product design and creating products which solve common on-site problems within the construction industry.

Due to continued growth we are now in the market for an Estimating/Design Engineer to join the team at our Cookstown plant.

As our new Estimating/Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing, specifying and pricing structurally adequate Support products in response to client enquiries.

The Estimating/Design Engineer will also be required to meet client expectations by ensuring prompt replies to queries, utilising all information provided, implementing information gathered from design/site meetings and meeting site delivery dates.

On a daily basis the Estimating/Design Engineer will be responsible for: Preparation of accurate, competitive and detailed technical schedules for our Support products with the assistance of a dedicated internal structural engineering team.

Produce cost variations post order to support the live projects team.

Follow up schedules with customers via phone calls and emails to build relationships with key contacts.

Provide basic calculations to the current standard for all products specified.

Provide detailed handovers to the project team when orders are received.

Deliver excellent customer service; attend office and sites when required to develop customer relationships, solve technical issues and develop product design.

To be considered for the role on Estimating/Design Engineer you should have most of the following experience: Previous experience in a construction estimating/technical role.

Ability to interpret construction drawings and extract relevant information efficiently.

Solid knowledge and understanding of the construction process.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Experience of using Bluebeam and Auto CAD desirable.
