The Relief Manager is a flexible and dynamic position that provides support across stores within a designated region. This role will cover the absence of the Store Manager or other staff members and assist the Regional Manager in maximising sales, achieving profit targets, maintaining store compliance, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires flexibility in travel and covering stores at short notice.
Location: Stores within the South-East - Croydon, Mitcham, Wimbledon and Balham
Salary: £30,067 per annum
Key Responsibilities:- Provide cover within the region, ensuring stores run smoothly in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Assist in achieving sales targets and guaranteeing excellent customer service.
- Ensure stores comply with company standards and procedures, including:
- Operating and financial controls, conducting regular audits.
- Staff management and relationship building.
- Marketing activities to promote store awareness.
- Health and safety regulations.
- Housekeeping and maintenance standards.
- Maintaining awareness of local competitor activity and keeping the Regional Manager informed.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses to drive promotions.
- Support the Regional Manager in compiling information and data for the region.
- Open and close stores as a key holder when colleagues are absent.
- Promote sales in alignment with the store’s business plan.
- Engage in proactive marketing activities, including leaflet drops and business visits.
- Ensure stores meet revenue and financial goals.
- Maintain financial controls, cash handling, banking, and accounting procedures as outlined in the company’s operations manual.
- Ensure adherence to administrative systems and company policies.
- Carry out other ad hoc tasks as requested by the Regional Manager.
It would be ideal if the candidate is able to commute to locations such as Southeast England and surrounding areas. The individual will be placed in one of these stores based on proximity to their home address. Flexibility will be required to travel to stores according to the needs of the business. Travel will be within a reasonable commuting distance from the candidate's home, so it is mandatory that the ideal candidate owns a car, has a clean driving licence, and is able to commute to different locations. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel from the assigned base store to any other stores.
