About the Role: Are you ready to take charge in a fast-paced, high-energy environment? As the Night Shift Manager for our Car Park operation at Gatwick Airport, you will oversee a dynamic team and ensure the smooth running of a busy parking operation during the night shift. Gatwick Airport, one of the busiest airports in the UK, handles over 46 million passengers each year, and your role will be key in ensuring that our car park operations meet the needs of around 600-650 customers daily. With 3,100 parking spaces and a dedicated team of 70 people, your leadership will ensure that our customers' parking and transportation needs are met efficiently and effectively.
You will be working on the night shift, from 6pm to 6am, and as the Night Shift Manager, you will be the key decision-maker, ensuring everything runs smoothly while managing your team independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of 70 people, including car parking attendants, bus drivers, and customer service staff. Foster a positive work environment, encourage growth, and ensure your team performs to the best of their abilities.
- Performance Management: Monitor and manage team performance, providing support, coaching, and feedback to ensure a high standard of service and operational efficiency.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee the operational flow from customer check-in at reception to the safe and efficient parking of vehicles. Ensure all processes run smoothly throughout the shift.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure that all customers are processed promptly and that their vehicles are parked safely. Handle any customer concerns or escalations efficiently, ensuring a positive experience.
- Decision-Making: As the night manager, you will be responsible for making decisions on the ground. Whether it is addressing operational issues or customer complaints, you will need to be confident in your judgment.
- Manage Routines: Ensure that all operational routines are followed by your team, maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and cleanliness across the site.
- Fleet Management: Oversee the fleet of buses and ensure they are ready for customer transfers, maintaining vehicle checks and scheduling bus routes appropriately.
