This role provides comprehensive HR support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle while acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees. It combines operational excellence with strategic input, ensuring compliance, driving engagement, and supporting organisational growth within a fast-paced manufacturing and food production environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Partner with operational managers to align HR initiatives with production and business objectives.
  • Manage employee relations issues from initial queries through to complex cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Support workforce planning to ensure adequate staffing levels for production demands.
  • Coordinate recruitment processes for operational roles, including onboarding and induction, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Have oversight of probationary periods for new starters, liaising with managers on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure timely updates in HR systems.
  • Support performance review processes and assist managers with documentation.
  • Support the annual review of HR policies to reflect legislative changes and best practice.
  • Support the delivery and coordination of employee training programs to enhance skills and compliance.
  • Any other duties as deemed reasonable by your line manager or senior management to assist with the operation of the business.

Person Specification:

  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience in HR advisory and generalist roles with some exposure to strategic projects.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and data analysis.
  • Experience in manufacturing or food manufacturing desirable.
