We are working with an established specialist principal contractor that has a strong nationwide presence and a healthy, long-term pipeline of work. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Planner to support a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects.
The Role
As Senior Project Planner, you will play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of projects across a range of sectors including petrochemical, rail, water and industrial. Working closely with project and commercial teams, you will take ownership of programme development, progress tracking and risk management from pre‑construction through to completion. This is an opportunity to work on interesting, complex projects within civils, earthworks, remediation and demolition, where your planning expertise will have real influence on project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes from tender through to delivery
- Provide programme input during pre‑construction and live projects
- Identify critical paths, risks and opportunities, supporting mitigation strategies
- Monitor progress and report against programme milestones
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers and commercial teams
- Ensure full compliance with NEC contracts, including change management and reporting
About You
- Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within civil engineering, demolition or remediation environments
- Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts is essential
- Strong experience planning complex civils and earthworks packages
- Confident with planning software (e.g. Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject)
- Commercially aware, proactive and solutions-focused
- Comfortable working across multiple projects and locations
