We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established aggregates and quarry operation based in Whittlesey, Peterborough. Due to continued growth and increased workload, they are looking to recruit an experienced Tractor Driver to join their day shift team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position with potential to become permanent following a successful temporary period.

The Role

  • Working within a busy aggregates yard and quarry environment, you will be responsible for operating a tractor and supporting day-to-day site operations.
  • The role involves transporting materials around the site, assisting production teams, and ensuring the smooth running of yard activities.
  • Candidates holding additional plant tickets such as Telehandler, Loading Shovel, or 360 Excavator will be highly desirable and may receive an enhanced hourly rate.

Shift Pattern & Hours

  • Monday to Friday Day Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Optional overtime available
  • Weekend overtime opportunities
  • Site operates 24/7, although this role is expected to remain on days

Pay & Benefits

  • £15.00 per hour + holiday pay
  • Up to £16.00 per hour for candidates with additional relevant plant tickets

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operating a tractor safely and efficiently around the aggregates yard and quarry
  • Transporting materials and supporting site production activities
  • Assisting with stock movements and site logistics
  • Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Supporting other plant operations where qualified and required
  • Following all site health and safety procedures

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a tractor in an industrial, agricultural, quarry, aggregates, recycling, or similar environment
  • Relevant tractor operating certification (In-House, NPORS, or CPCS accepted)
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
  • Additional tickets including Telehandler, Loading Shovel, or 360 Excavator are highly advantageous
