Salary: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour (depending on experience and suitability)

Shift Pattern: 6:00am - 6:00pm, rolling 4-on / 4-off shift pattern (plus handover time)

Holiday Entitlement: 22.5 days per annum

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join our waste and recycling operations in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on supervisor with experience in manufacturing, processing, waste management, or similar industrial environments.

A permanent position is available following a successful probation period, although immediate permanent employment may be offered to the right candidate.

You will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day site production activities, managing a small team of operatives, and ensuring operational, safety, and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of 3 site operatives.
  • Coordinate daily operations with the Site Manager, Weighbridge & Front of House Supervisor, Maintenance Team, and Night Production Supervisor.
  • Complete daily shift handovers and production reporting.
  • Monitor and achieve production targets, quality standards, and batch reporting requirements.
  • Conduct and oversee pre-use checks on plant and equipment.
  • Monitor performance levels and maintain required operational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Enforce PPE standards and site safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company management systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback to management.
  • Maintain site security and report concerns promptly.
  • Ensure all operatives complete relevant SSOWs, Risk Assessments, and COSHH documentation.
  • Manage staff administration including timecards, holidays, sickness, return‑to‑work procedures, training, and disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate plant operations in line with inbound and outbound loads and business requirements.
  • Report hazards, accidents, and near misses to management.
  • Monitor contractor permits and ensure completion and compliance.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, management, and company directors.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, processing, waste, recycling, or industrial plant environment.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • High standard of written and spoken English.
  • Computer literate and confident using email and basic reporting systems.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience operating mobile plant machinery.
  • Competence with:
    • Forklift Truck (FLT)
    • Loading Shovel
    • Grab Machine
