We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing metal recycling company operating a busy processing facility in Doncaster. The company specialises in the handling, sorting, and recycling of scrap metals, supporting major industrial and commercial operations across the UK. With a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and staff development, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and expanding business.

We are currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Banksman to join a busy recycling site on the day shift team. This is a key role within the operation, responsible for safely guiding inbound and outbound vehicles around site, checking incoming materials, and supporting the overall flow and safety of the yard. Training will be provided for the right candidate, with excellent opportunities for progression available.

Shift Pattern & Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 05:30am – 05:30pm Day Shift

Pay & Benefits

  • £12.75 per hour + holiday pay

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Guiding inbound and outbound wagons safely around the site
  • Acting as a banksman for vehicles and site traffic
  • Carrying out quality checks on inbound materials
  • Maintaining safe traffic flow within the yard
  • Communicating clearly with drivers and site operatives
  • Supporting safe and efficient site operations
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Assisting with general yard duties where required

Requirements

  • Good level of spoken and written English (essential)
  • IT literate and comfortable using basic systems
  • Reliable with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • FLT experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
