Role Description
This is an on-site, full-time position for Residential Support Practitioners and Senior Residential Support Practitioners located in Middleton St George. Candidates will be responsible for providing care, guidance, and emotional support to children in a nurturing domestic environment. Key duties include assisting with daily routines, supporting educational and recreational activities, maintaining a safe and respectful home environment, and fostering the development of essential life skills. Senior roles will also include mentoring team members, overseeing care plans, and ensuring compliance with organisation policies and national care standards.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with children and colleagues
- Ability to develop rapport and build trusting relationships with young people
- Experience in delivering care and support to children in a residential setting
- Organisational and decision-making skills, particularly for senior roles
- Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
- Commitment to upholding the values of Commitment, Respect, and Support
- An NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care Children and Young People qualification (or willingness to work towards it) for Residential Support Practitioner roles
- Supervisory experience for Senior roles is preferred
- An understanding of relevant child protection laws and safeguarding practices is a plus
- Valid driver’s license is highly desirable
