Manufacturing Engineer Due to an ever-increasing order book, we are looking to strengthen our team with the addition of a Manufacturing Engineer. Working in a busy environment on a variation of parts, you will be an integral part of the team that drives production, works closely with our customers and supports the team. Duties and Responsibilities * Ensuring production methods are consistent and suitable in relation to customer specifications * Make sure all jigs and tooling are correct for each job * Produce designs of tooling/ equipment using 3d cad for manufacturing purposes * Communicating effectively with customer throughout the process * Support any engineering issues raised by other departments. * Recommend and implement improvements * Working on a variety of different jobs/parts * Ensure all jobs launched internally from the department have the required tooling , programs and plannings. * To highlight any quality deficiencies or opportunities to improve current quality of planning’s products and processes. * Help and drive continuous improvement and highlight potential for cost reduction What are we looking for? * Ideally Time Served/Apprentice trained but this isn’t essential * Good mechanical engineering background * Experience with moving components, widgets, nuts and bolts * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing * A conventional machining background is preferred * Experience in Turning, Milling, EDM, Multi-Axis Machining, 3D Modelling * Proactive approach to work and good communication skills This is a permanent position on the day shift which is Monday to Thursday 8am till 4.30pm and Friday 8am till 12.15pm (35 hours). Hourly rate will range between £17-18 but we can be flexible for the right candidate. There is ample staff parking and additional benefits that can be discussed at interview stage.
