Salary competitive based at our Oxford depot. Annual salary: competitive; office based.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading a team of engineers, technicians, cleaners, and apprentices to keep our fleet safe, clean, and road‑ready.
  • Managing maintenance and presentation of 95 local/rural service buses and 32 Oxford Tube express coaches.
  • Overseeing depot plant and building maintenance, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations.
  • Planning day‑to‑day operations, managing resources, stock control and procurement.
  • Coaching and developing team members, focusing on continuous improvement and talent planning.
  • Working closely with the Chief Fleet Engineer and gaining exposure to regional/strategic projects.
  • Maintaining standards in line with DVSA regulations and Stagecoach’s internal standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Engineering experience in a relevant sector such as bus, coach, HGV, rail, plant or automotive.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills – you may already be a manager or looking for the next step.
  • A proactive, organised, and safety‑first mindset.
  • Experience managing compliance, budgets, inventory and health & safety practices.
  • Passion for high standards in both vehicle performance and presentation.
