We are looking for a practical, reliable, and hardworking Buildings & Vehicle Maintenance Person to join our team.
This varied role combines general building maintenance duties with the cleaning and upkeep of our fleet of passenger vehicles, helping us maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for both employees and customers.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring depot facilities remain in excellent condition while also carrying out steam cleaning and deep-cleaning activities on our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Building Maintenance
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance to depot buildings and facilities.
- Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, and minor electrical tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and report defects.
- Maintain external areas including fencing, pathways, signage, and grounds.
- Assist with depot improvement and refurbishment projects.
- Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Vehicle Cleaning & Maintenance
- Steam clean and deep clean PCV vehicles to a high standard.
- Remove dirt, grease, oil, and other contaminants from vehicle interiors and exteriors.
- Clean engines, wheel arches, chassis areas, and workshop equipment where required.
- Support fleet presentation by ensuring vehicles are maintained in a clean and professional condition.
- Safely operate steam cleaning and pressure washing equipment.
- Adhere to all environmental and health & safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
About You
- Have previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, cleaning, or a similar practical role.
- Be confident using hand and power tools.
- Have experience operating pressure washers or steam cleaning equipment (desirable).
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Have excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Understand the importance of health and safety procedures.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (desirable).
