The Role

As Senior Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation, and lead a motivated team of chefs and kitchen staff. You will play a key role in menu development, staff training, and ensuring consistent excellence in every dish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations.
  • Lead and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive, professional team culture.
  • Maintain excellent food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Contribute to menu planning, specials, and seasonal updates.
  • Deputise for the Head Chef during absence.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, high-standard kitchen.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern cooking techniques and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Passion for creativity, sustainability, and exceptional food.
  • Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent experience.
