The Role
As Senior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation, and lead a motivated team of chefs and kitchen staff. You will play a key role in menu development, staff training, and ensuring consistent excellence in every dish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations.
- Lead and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive, professional team culture.
- Maintain excellent food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and cost management.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Contribute to menu planning, specials, and seasonal updates.
- Deputise for the Head Chef during absence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, high-standard kitchen.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of modern cooking techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Passion for creativity, sustainability, and exceptional food.
- Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent experience.
