We are looking for a motivated Associate Publisher to manage publishing development for a portfolio of social science journals in economics, business and finance. You will develop strong working relationships with external journal editors, reviewing performance and ensuring alignment on strategic goals, and plan and execute recruitment for editorial teams. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Wiley's research business on day‐to‐day portfolio management as well as broader initiatives, focusing on identifying opportunities for journal development and strategic growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop excellent working relationships with external editors and editorial boards to build and maintain the journals' reputation and quality while improving operations for continued success.
  • Evaluate performance and support journal development to best serve research communities.
  • Manage recruitment for editorial teams with adjustment to editorial structures as required.
  • Plan and oversee strategic content commissioning and other efforts to support healthy growth.
  • Represent Wiley in the subject community through outreach (virtual and in‐person) and thought leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills, and the ability to ensure alignment of external editors with strategic goals.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‐functional teams at both operational and strategic levels.
  • Experience with analysis of financial and publishing data to plan and budget accordingly, keeping costs at appropriate levels while investing in growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve problems and make informed decisions; organized working style with effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills with ability to clearly explain complex issues in research publishing both at the conceptual level and with a grounding in journal metrics.

Compensation

Salary Range: 31,400 GBP to 43,800 GBP
