About You

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst on an initial 6-month contract based in Belfast. This role will support the delivery across the portfolio of business and technology change initiatives across 3173. Working closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Compliance, you will play a key role in shaping requirements, improving processes, and ensuring that change initiatives deliver tangible business value. The focus is on capturing robust business requirements, defining detailed functional and non-functional requirements, producing current and future state process maps, and documenting test plans. This role is well suited to a contractor who enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity, operating in fast-moving environments, and supporting the delivery of core systems during periods of growth and transformation. The engagement is outcome-driven, collaborative, and delivery-focused. This role requires two days per week onsite in Belfast, and occasional travel to other UK offices may be required.

Responsibilities & Criteria

  • Discovery & Analysis - Lead workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to identify business needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement. Analyse and map current-state processes and data flows, documenting issues and constraints. Design and map future-state processes and workflows aligned to best practice and 3173s operating model.
  • Requirements & Design - Produce clear, high-quality functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation. Translate business requirements into actionable inputs for technical teams and implementation partners. Support solution design by evaluating options against business, regulatory, and data requirements. Proactively identify gaps, ambiguities, dependencies, and delivery risks.
  • Delivery & Validation - Work closely with developers, consultants, and project teams to deliver scalable, user-centric solutions. Contribute to solution walkthroughs, design reviews, and governance forums as required. Define test scenarios and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting outcomes, defects, and decisions. Ensure feedback is captured, prioritised, and addressed in a structured manner.
  • Change & Adoption - Support user adoption through clear documentation, stakeholder engagement, and contribution to training materials. Champion continuous improvement and user experience throughout the delivery lifecycle. Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly and professionally to stakeholders. Support wider change-management activity across the portfolio where required.

Required Experience & Profile

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst or consultant.
  • Experience within the pensions industry (preferred) or financial services.
  • Solid understanding of data models, workflows, automation, integrations, and user roles.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in environments with evolving requirements and multiple cross-functional dependencies.
  • Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Delivery-focused mindset with a pragmatic, structured approach to problem-solving.
