Role Overview: Electronics Engineer on the hardware development team in the Hardware based Security (HardSec) product group. Design and test sophisticated electronic circuit boards and key hardware components for cyber‑security products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Report to the hardware team.
- Gather requirements and research to select appropriate components.
- Design and layout PCBs using Altium Designer.
- Manage PCB, mechanical, and system‑level design data with product life‑cycle management tools.
- Use lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters to test new hardware and debug issues.
- Coordinate with product design engineers to package electronics within a chassis.
- Evaluate product performance under thermal and vibrational conditions.
- Assist in compliance and certification of new hardware.
- Collaborate with production engineers to ensure smooth transition to high‑volume manufacturing.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in electronic engineering or a related technical subject.
- Experience with digital electronic systems design, including component selection, schematic entry, and PCB layout.
- Understanding of board design principles with devices such as switch‑mode power supplies, FPGAs, and embedded processors.
- Knowledge of multi‑layer PCB layout techniques (e.g., microvias and length matching).
- Experience in PCB debugging and testing.
- Experience in integrating hardware with software and firmware.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software programming experience (e.g., C, Python).
- FPGA programming experience (e.g., VHDL).
Compensation & Benefits: Base salary range: £43,700‑£51,100 GBP. Salary may vary based on experience, locale, and business needs. In addition, there is a bonus plan and a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, 401k match, and contributions to healthcare coverages.
