The predicted salary is between 80000 - 100000 £ per year.
Fully accountable for all rig operations, safety of people and management of rig assets in accordance with Borr Drilling's core processes, performance and maintenance standards. The Rig Manager is the primary customer contact for day to day operations and is accountable for managing the customer relationship.
Responsibilities
- Management of rig operations, production, maintenance, costs and personnel to meet the Company's business objectives.
- Ensures activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory, corporate and local government certification requirements.
- Liaise with customer(s) regarding safety and operational items, including but not limited to pre‐planning and adherence to customer industry standards.
- Develop and maintain operational performance targets for the respective unit.
- Responsible for ensuring the unit is compliant with contract requirements at all times; where deviations are necessary these are to be supported by the management of change process.
- Anticipate, quickly troubleshoot and resolve operational, equipment and maintenance issues to minimize rig exposures to downtime or unplanned events.
- Confirm that proper planning of preventative maintenance is carried out to efficiently maintain rig equipment.
- Ensure that an adequate level of inventory and consumables are maintained on the rig to meet regular maintenance requirements and the emergency repair of safety and operations critical equipment.
- In coordination with the OIM, ensure that supervision, direction and training is provided to drilling rig crew members including compliance with all safety and operational procedures.
- Ensure rig crew in full compliance with Company training matrix.
- Plan and supervise rig moves including rig up/down procedures whilst carefully following agreed rig move procedures.
- Support and drive adherence to Company policies, guidelines and work requirements.
- Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment where employees of all backgrounds feel included and their contributions are welcomed, encouraged and valued.
- Ensure people development, performance management and succession planning is established for all rig‐based personnel.
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the safety of all onsite personnel with the goal of an incident‐free operation.
- Develop yearly budget plans for unit, OPEX, MAJEX and CAPEX and exercise appropriate financial diligence in management of day‐to‐day operations.
- Ensure full compliance to flag state requirements/training.
- Participate in regular monthly rig visits and conduct bi‐annual Trust and Verify Audits.
- Become familiar with and competent in the application of the Borr Management System.
- Communicates internally with Regional Management Team, OIM, Crew, Co‐Workers and Colleagues.
- Collaborates with other functions e.g. Human Resources, Finance, Technical Support, Marine.
- Communicates externally with customer(s) to ensure the safe delivery of project in line with company's and customers objectives/procedures.
- Management of the rig operations ensuring full compliance with safety and operational procedures and in coordination with OIM ensure that supervision, direction and training is provided to drilling rig crew members.
- Shore based role with the responsibility of offshore crew role which requires attention to detail, working under limited supervision with accountability of the safe delivery of the project.
- Global mobility is a pre‐requisite and may involve, if offshore/onshore, unavoidable exposure to hazardous situations and environments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a technical college or university.
- In lieu of the above, you should have extensive experience as a rig manager.
- Computer literate.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written) with the ability to work in a multicultural environment; of benefit to be bilingual.
- Ability to oversee budget plans in line with the company strategic and long‐term objectives.
- Previous experience of onshore rig‐based work in remote locations as a standalone manager will be viewed as advantageous.
