This role sits within a global investigations function that partners with legal and business teams to oversee corporate compliance investigations arising from Accenture’s reporting channels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional investigations team, providing coaching, guidance, and oversight on investigations.
  • Manage and oversee internal and external resources to conduct significant and complex allegations of misconduct related to financial and regulatory matters; define scope, develop investigative plans, notify appropriate personnel, conduct interviews, compile status reports, and recommend/remedial actions.
  • Exercise oversight to ensure investigations are conducted impartially, in accordance with internal policies, legal requirements, and best practices.
  • Develop processes for identifying and reporting investigation trends and provide updates on data related to investigations.
  • Make strategic decisions and outcomes impacting the Corporate Investigations group; execute global strategy set by the Global Director of Corporate Investigations.
  • Collaborate with senior business and HR leadership to provide legal advice on risk and remedial measures; liaise with Compliance Program leads.
  • Work with law enforcement and other regulatory or enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Oversee, train, and support attorneys and investigative personnel; stay current on legal developments affecting investigations and whistleblowing rights and compliance standards.
  • Utilize innovative tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the investigation process.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders to ensure transparency and confidence in the investigation process.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on investigations, whistleblowing, and ethical conduct; promote professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making within the team.
  • Stay abreast of reporting rights, accused rights, and related compliance standards; ensure responsible handling of sensitive information.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Qualified lawyer required.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years’ experience conducting and supervising investigations, including:
  • Conducting Code of Business Ethics / financial fraud investigations and dealing with regulatory and governmental investigations.
  • Drafting confidential legal reports and advising senior leadership on ethical conduct and compliance-related risks, including personnel-related remedial action.
  • Experience in associated litigation and/or employment litigation.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Interpersonal skills, strategic business acumen, and the ability to address sensitive ethical conduct/compliance and personnel matters.
  • Knowledge of ethical/conduct/compliance risks, employee rights and obligations, and relevant laws.
  • Team player who is collaborative, persuasive, and able to influence executives and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to project manage and prioritize investigations.
