The Care Navigator plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients within our healthcare facility. This position involves managing patient interactions, coordinating care, and supporting the clinical team to enhance patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Timely answering a large volume of incoming telephone calls.
  • Dealing with patient requests and queries.
  • Processing patient electronic consultations.
  • Processing prescription requests.
  • Answering email queries.
  • Handling complaints at the first point of contact.
  • Dealing with patient queries at the reception front desk.
  • Performing general administrative duties.

The role means you are the first point of contact with patients and will represent our practice; therefore efficient customer service is essential. You will be required to handle an extremely large volume of calls and online electronic consultation requests and must remain calm under pressure while maintaining a high standard and level of accuracy. All patients must be treated with respect, empathy, and professionalism. Duties include ensuring all incoming correspondence is actioned and processed in a timely manner. All staff must comply with practice safeguarding policies and complete mandatory e‑learning training.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or office environment is preferred.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
  • Good knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Word, and email systems.
  • Compassionate attitude towards patient care and commitment to enhancing the patient experience.
