Our client is a dynamic, people-focused organisation based in King's Lynn. They are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support a 6 month contract with the possibility of going permanent. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment with real scope for development and progression.
As an HR Advisor, you will be a trusted partner to managers and employees, offering practical HR guidance, managing recruitment, coaching managers, and supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives. This role offers broad generalist exposure and the chance to make a tangible impact on culture and operational excellence.
What's involved for the HR Advisor:
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on all HR matters including recruitment, employee relations, absence management, performance, disciplinary/grievance procedures, family leave, and flexible working.
- Partner with line managers to embed best-practice people processes into day-to-day operations.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes: job descriptions, interviews, onboarding, and candidate experience.
- Support or lead disciplinary, grievance, capability, and redundancy cases ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
- Coach and upskill managers on performance management, absence, conduct issues, and people leadership skills.
- Play an active role in learning & development: identify training needs, contribute to annual training plans, and deliver training sessions/workshops.
- Support Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing initiatives, including managing the D&I calendar and delivering initiatives within budget.
- Support health & safety initiatives and reinforce the company's "zero accident" culture.
- Ensure timely and accurate HR data submission and maintain compliance reporting.
- Maintain and update HR policies, templates, and guidance documents.
- Provide cover for Time & Attendance administration when required.
- Contribute to HR and cross-functional projects aimed at continuous improvement.
What you'll need:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or qualified by experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and GDPR.
- Proven ability to coach and influence managers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Confident user of MS Office (particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for training/presentations).
- Experience running recruitment campaigns and delivering training sessions.
