Play a key role in delivering mission-critical data centre projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a background in electrical, mechanical or building services who enjoys seeing projects through to completion.
Working on large-scale data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects, you'll take ownership of commissioning activities, ensuring systems are tested, validated and handed over to the highest standards.
The Opportunity:
- Lead commissioning activities from planning through to final handover, ensuring electrical and mechanical systems are installed, tested and commissioned safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.
- Work closely with project teams, contractors and clients to deliver high-quality projects on time and to specification.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and coordinating commissioning activities across major projects.
- Carrying out and witnessing FATs, SATs and integrated systems testing.
- Commissioning electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators and PDUs.
- Testing mechanical systems including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps and cooling systems.
- Supporting commissioning of BMS, EPMS and fire detection systems.
- Identifying and resolving commissioning issues while maintaining quality standards.
- Producing commissioning reports and technical documentation.
- Supporting client training, handover and project closeout.
What we're looking for:
- Experience within commissioning, MEP, construction, facilities or building services.
- Previous involvement in data centre, industrial or other mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical building systems.
- Ability to manage commissioning programmes and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or a time-served electrician.
Desirable:
- CIBSE or ASHRAE commissioning qualifications.
- Uptime Institute ATS accreditation.
- CSCS, SMSTS, 18th Edition or City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
