Job Description
What you’ll do
- This role involves providing high-quality, expert, practical, legal and regulatory advice across VodafoneThree's consumer and enterprise business, enabling regulatory compliant customer propositions and communications.
- The role supports the design and delivery of compliant customer journeys and contributes to embedding regulatory governance in commercial decision making.
- The Senior Counsel acts as a trusted advisor to commercial, product and marketing teams, translating complex regulatory obligations into clear and actionable guidance.
- You will business partner and act as a key regulatory advisor on consumer-facing proposition design, terms and conditions and communications.
The ideal candidate will be a senior qualified lawyer or highly experienced regulatory advisor with significant experience in UK consumer protection law and Ofcom regulatory frameworks. They should have a deep understanding of telecoms products, customer journeys and the regulatory and legal frameworks that govern them. The role demands exceptional communication skills and gravitas, the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, and a proven track record of successfully designing and implementing compliant product journeys and governance frameworks.
KPIs include customer journey compliance, regulatory sign-off SLA, enforcement risk management, and integration compliance.
Regulatory implementation:
- Support the design, development and delivery of compliant customer journeys, propositions, and communications across VodafoneThree consumer and business brands, ensuring compliance with Ofcom and CMA roles.
- Ensure that approach aligns to strategic goals.
Advisory & Documentation:
- Draft, review and approve customer-facing materials ensuring they meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Provide specialist expert counsel on consumer law and regulation.
Commercial Governance:
- Participate in proposition and pricing approval forums, ensuring regulatory and legal issues are identified early and managed effectively.
Integration Compliance:
- Support the integration of Vodafone and Three consumer products and systems, identifying regulatory risks and ensuring consistent compliance standards are applied across legacy businesses.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Legal, Regulatory Policy, Product, Marketing and Operations to implement practical compliance solutions and foster a culture of proactive regulatory delivery.
Regulatory Enforcement support:
- Assist in management regulatory engagement, investigations and complaints, preparing legal responses and briefing materials as required.
Continuous Improvement:
- Help evolve playbooks, templates, and guidance notes to improve consistency, efficiency and understanding of regulatory requirements across the business.
Qualifications
Who you are
- Senior qualified lawyer or highly experienced senior regulatory advisor with significant experience working within a specialist legal/regulatory delivery team advising on UK consumer protection law and Ofcom regulatory frameworks.
- Deep understanding of telecoms products, customer journeys, and the regulatory and legal frameworks that govern them.
- Demonstrated ability to embed regulatory obligations into commercial and operational processes at scale.
- Skilled in balancing compliance requirements with commercial and operational realities.
- Experience in regulatory enforcement, including advising on complaints, investigations and dispute resolution.
- Proven ability to lead complex legal/regulatory workstreams related to product integration, proposition development and go-to-market delivery and a track record of successfully designing and implementing compliant product journeys and governance frameworks.
