This course covers all the regulations required by the ADR to transport any type of hazardous materials and waste via packages or tanks. This is a classroom-based course and also counts towards 28 hours of your Periodic Driver CPC.

This course will cover the transport of Hazardous Goods in packages and tanks. Class 1 specialisation course will enable drivers to get the expert knowledge and skills to transport explosives safely by road in the UK and Europe (in compliance with ADR Regulations). Class 7 specialisation course will enable drivers to get the expert knowledge and skills required to transport radioactive materials by road in the UK and Europe (in compliance with ADR Regulations).

The ADR Vocational Training Certificate Including Classes 1 & 7 is a legal requirement for drivers who transport dangerous goods. ADR stands for the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road. This course helps drivers meet legal and safety standards for carrying hazardous materials. Specifically, it covers Class 1 (Explosives) and Class 7 (Radioactives)—two of the most high-risk categories. Drivers learn how to transport these substances safely in both packages and tanks. As a result, they gain the knowledge and confidence to work in highly regulated areas of road transport.

During the course, drivers study vehicle safety, emergency procedures, proper handling, and legal duties. In addition, they practice equipment checks, apply correct signage, and follow procedures during incidents. Therefore, they stay prepared to protect themselves, others, and the environment. After passing the final assessment, each driver receives an ADR certificate. This remains valid for five years and permits the transport of dangerous goods across the UK and Europe.

Overall, the ADR Vocational Training Certificate with Classes 1 & 7 is essential for working in hazardous goods transport. Whether you’re starting in the industry or expanding your qualifications, this course ensures you are trained, compliant, and job-ready.
