Employment Solicitor 04 PQE Full Time
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Are you a recently qualified Employment Solicitor who enjoys a good challenge and a friendly team? Our client, a well-regarded and modern law firm based in Christchurch, is on the lookout for an Employment Lawyer with 04 years' PQE who's ready to roll up their sleeves (figuratively, or literally, depending on the office dress code).
About the Role
You’ll be joining a busy, down-to-earth Employment Team that handles a healthy mix of contentious and non-contentious matters:
- Drafting key HR documents
- Supporting TUPE transitions
- Navigating tribunal disputes
You’ll work closely with a range of clients from individuals seeking fair treatment to businesses who want to stay out of legal hot water. Expect to collaborate with the corporate team on buy-outs, advise on settlement agreements, and field the odd curveball with your usual calm, collected flair.
You’ll Fit Right In If You
- Are a qualified solicitor (NQ4 years PQE) or FCILEx
- Can tell your TUPE from your unfair dismissal and explain both to clients without sounding like a textbook
- Like learning new tech, communicating clearly, and being the kind of colleague who brings a bit of brightness to the office (or Zoom call)
- Take ownership of your work and can keep your cool even when a deadline is breathing down your neck
- Can see the bigger picture and aren’t afraid to spot opportunities for cross-team collaboration
- Enjoy networking and would rather chat to people than collect LinkedIn connections like Pokémon cards
Bonus Points If You Also
- Have a natural instinct for organisation (your inbox probably has folders and everything)
- Feel confident managing your own caseload (with support on hand, of course)
- Can see yourself one day speaking at events or creating useful online content (yes, lawyers can do YouTube too)
- Are open to helping grow the team's profile and client base without sounding like a walking sales pitch
What’s in It for You
- A negotiable salary that reflects your experience and potential
- A genuinely supportive, non-stuffy culture where people enjoy what they do
- Plenty of opportunities for progression, skill development, and not being micromanaged
- A full-time, permanent position with a 36.25 hour working week (and yes, someone did once count that .25)
- A comprehensive benefits package
Location: Christchurch, Dorset (you'll be glad to know it's as lovely as it sounds)
If you’re an employment law enthusiast with a practical brain, a good sense of humour, and the ability to explain a settlement agreement without anyone needing a dictionary this might just be your perfect next step. Apply confidentially to learn more. No jargon. No nonsense. No endless form-filling. Just a great job with great people.
