Join our dynamic Data Engineering team as a Senior Data Engineer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of data at Fortis. Partner with the broader Data team to deliver high-quality analytics products that unlock insights, fuel better decision-making, and drive the success of our games and cross-functional teams—including Analytics, QA, Community, and Player Support. You’ll play a role in helping to define the future of our data platform—including data schemas and self-serve tools—while also empowering game teams by enabling them to become data-driven. You’ll dig into rich data sources to surface insights, identify trends, and unlock new opportunities.

What you’ll achieve:

  • Work with the data engineering team to build data processing pipelines on the Fortis Data Platform.
  • Partner with Analytics to design, build and maintain data models in response to end customer needs.
  • Examine, deconstruct and deep dive into large, unstructured datasets in order to identify useful and relevant information.
  • Build and optimise data structures that underpin our Analytical dashboards to ensure optimal performance, timeliness and quality of information provided to stakeholders.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Data engineer in a high volume, low latency environment; video games experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies such as Kafka, Spark.
  • Expert in Python for API integration, data manipulation and enrichment.
  • Advanced SQL: Aggregate and window functions, joins and CTEs.
  • Strong understanding of database design for optimal performance; experience with Clickhouse would be a bonus.
  • Proven ability to ensure high standards of data quality, accuracy and completeness.
  • Proficient with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with AWS (S3, Glacier, Kinesis, Redshift), large datasets, Looker, and gaming industry.
