Rockstar London is on the lookout for talented Localisation Testers who possess a passion for Linguistics and Marketing Localisation. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of London.

WHAT WE DO

The Rockstar Localisation Team provide high quality localisation on all Rockstar products and services. We work closely with all development teams to provide input during internationalisation and localisation development phases. We advise our external localisation teams with the information they need to provide high quality translation. We rigorously test all products and services to ensure final quality matches that which our end users expect on a Rockstar product.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide dev support and localisation consultation to our internal development, digital marketing and publishing teams, to aid with font selection, character support, texture review, UI/UX layout etc.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of marketing style guides and glossaries to aid external translators.
  • Proofreading of translated text for all Rockstar digital marketing assets.
  • Editing of existing localised text, in order to match updates made to source strings.
  • Providing ad-hoc translations when required.
  • Performing Localisation QA and asset verification on all Rockstar digital marketing campaigns.
  • Researching topics relating to our products and services to ensure authentic and accurate contextual use of language.
  • Maintain familiarity with all Rockstar products and services in order to ensure consistency with digital marketing campaigns.
  • Perform proofreading and localisation QA tasking on other Rockstar products and services where required.
  • Providing feedback for language peers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent language ability in the specific language (written/spoken), as well as cultural knowledge of the target territory.
  • A good level of spoken and written English.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.

SKILLS

  • The ability to work well under pressure and adhere to strict guidelines when necessary.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to not only identify localisation errors/problems, but to use creative thinking to provide quality solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to collaborate well within a team environment.
